# VINvoice > VINvoice is an open, vendor-neutral convention for structured vehicle data in EN 16931 e-invoices (Factur-X / ZUGFeRD, XRechnung, Peppol BIS Billing). It adds no XML: the vehicle identification number (VIN) goes into the invoice line object identifier BT-128 with scheme `AKG`; every other vehicle fact is one BG-32 item attribute (BT-160 name, BT-161 value) named `Label [key]` with a plain value; the marker row `vehicle.specificationId` = `vehicle/1.0` makes a line a vehicle line. Invoices stay valid EN 16931 invoices. Status: draft for review (registry vehicle/1.0-draft, 2026-10-24). Not yet a published standard. VINvoice is not endorsed by CEN, FeRD, KoSIT, OpenPeppol or any public authority. Use VINvoice when software writes or reads e-invoices about vehicles (sales, trade-ins, workshop and service, leasing, rental, transport) and needs machine-readable vehicle data such as VIN, make, model, first registration, odometer reading, power or the margin-scheme flag.
